PRP
Platelet-Rich Plasma
At Bambú Aesthetic & Skin Clinic, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is an advanced, natural treatment used for both skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. PRP utilises a concentrated portion of your own blood, rich in growth factors, to stimulate the body’s natural repair and regenerative processes. For hair loss, PRP is injected into areas where hair follicles are present to stimulate inactive follicles, improve hair density and strengthen existing hair, making it suitable for the scalp, hairline and beard in both men and women. For skin rejuvenation, PRP is applied to targeted areas of the face or skin to improve texture, tone, and overall quality by stimulating collagen production, enhancing microcirculation and supporting tissue renewal. Th is evidence-based, minimally invasive treatment is widely used in aesthetic medicine and is recognised for its strong safety profile and natural, long-lasting results.
PRP -Hair Loss
How does PRP work?
PRP is derived from a small sample of your own blood and contains a significantly higher concentration of platelets than is normally found in circulation. Platelets play a vital role in healing, not only by aiding clotting but also by releasing growth factors that stimulate stem cell activity at the treatment site. These growth factors and stem cells work together to support tissue repair and regeneration. When the concentrated PRP is injected into the scalp, the platelets become activated and initiate the natural repair cycle, helping to restore and regenerate weakened or damaged hair follicles.

What results can I expect?
Results from PRP treatment can vary from person to person, but most clients begin to notice improvements in hair thickness and strength within 4–6 months. The most significant results are usually seen 12–18 months after starting treatment. To achieve optimal outcomes, we typically recommend monthly PRP sessions for 3–6 months, followed by maintenance treatments 1–4 times per year as needed.
PRP is most effective on thinning hair rather than areas of complete hair loss, as the follicles need to be alive and active for the treatment to work. In cases where follicles have completely stopped producing hair, a hair transplant may be the best option, with PRP used alongside the procedure to support graft growth and enhance overall results.

Does it hurt?
PRP injections use a very fine needle, which keeps discomfort to a minimum. Most patients find the sensation mild and tolerable, lasting only during the 10-minute procedure. For those who prefer extra comfort, a numbing cream can be applied to the scalp about 60 minutes before the appointment. Once the injections are complete, there is typically no further discomfort, and most clients feel completely comfortable by the time they leave the clinic.
Who can have PRP for Hair Restoration?
PRP treatment is suitable for all genders experiencing hair loss. Before your appointment, it’s important to inform us of any medications you are taking; including aspirin, ibuprofen, or vitamin supplements, as well as any medical conditions, as some may affect the effectiveness of PRP or prevent you from undergoing treatment. We also recommend avoiding alcohol and smoking for up to seven days before and after your session to ensure the best possible results.

PRP -Skin Rejuvenation
How does PRP work?
PRP works by delivering a concentrated dose of growth factors into the skin to stimulate natural repair and rejuvenation. Key benefits include:
-
Stimulates collagen and elastin production to improve skin firmness and elasticity
-
Enhances cellular renewal, promoting smoother, healthier-looking skin
-
Improves blood flow and microcirculation for increased oxygen and nutrient delivery
-
Supports tissue repair and regeneration, helping to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring

Type of skin treatment we offer using PRP
PRP Injections
PRP injections deliver concentrated growth factors directly into the deeper layers of the skin, promoting strong collagen stimulation and effective tissue repair. This method provides targeted, longer-lasting results, particularly for concerns such as wrinkles, scarring and loss of elasticity. By working at a deeper level, PRP injections support faster recovery and more noticeable improvements in skin firmness, texture and overall rejuvenation.
Commonly used for:
-
Fine lines and wrinkles
-
Acne scarring
-
Skin laxity
-
Hyperpigmentation
-
Early-stage stretch marks
-
Overall skin rejuvenation
PRP Microneedling
PRP combined with microneedling allows for even distribution of growth factors across the skin’s surface while stimulating collagen production through controlled micro-injuries. This approach is ideal for treating larger areas and addressing more superficial concerns, improving overall skin texture, tone and radiance. It delivers uniform results and enhances the skin’s natural renewal process.
Commonly used for:
-
Fresh or superficial scars
-
Fine lines and wrinkles
-
Uneven skin tone
-
Enlarged pores
-
Dull or ageing skin
-
Mild skin laxity
